West Coast Event: SoCal Vintage BMW Meet, Saturday, November 6, 2021 held at
Woodley Park, Van Nuys, CA. I’ve attended this event in the past- and it is not to be
missed. Always a large group of E31s and their owners in attendance. If you only want
to be a spectator, there is no charge. If you want to display your car, registration is

E31 Chapter Annual Board Meeting was recently held via Zoom. Here is an
executive summary of that meeting:
1) Joe Hower (our new vice president) provided more information about his
automotive owning history. His first car was a 1958 Chevrolet with a triple carb
set up! He has come a long way since then, with several BMW’s now parked in
his garage- including an X3, M5 and his E31.
2) New Chapter Logos Update. The E31 Chapter board was urged to tune in to
the BMW CCA Webinar hosted by Len Rayburn, Wednesday, October 13 th ,
7PM EASTERN time zone. This webinar will detail everything you will need to
know about the new Chapter logo designs. National will release to the Chapters
the new redesigns in the coming weeks. The new logos/Chapter branding must
be in place and used by our Chapter starting January 1, 2022.
3) Update regarding Queensboro, our E31 Swag Store. Roger is our liaison to
Queensboro. See below.
4) O’Fest & Legends East- Activities Director, Mike Barrett, will be attending
O’Fest and is putting together a meet and greet for E31 owners at the event.
5) Next E31 Chapter Newsletter- Roger has advised that he is putting the finishing
touches on the latest issue. Looking forward to it, Roger!
Post meeting action items-
i)
Roger: To put a brief report together by October 15th and e-mail to
the board members. This report should include who our
Queensboro contacts are for our business and accounting, how
many of the Motor T-Shirts have been printed and sold and the
status of our commercial relationship between the Chapter and
Queensboro.
Final notes: Starting next month, the President’s Update will not be e-mailed to
Chapter members, but rather will be found on our Chapter website, usually by the 10 th
of each month. I think it’s important to have one place for all E31 Community
information and what better place than our own E31 Chapter website!
Coming soon – an update on the North American headlamp adjuster kits.
Until next month – Henry
