Your E31 Chapter Needs You! The Search continues for an E31 Enthusiast to be our E31 Chapter Newsletter Editor/Publisher.
In addition to producing and publishing our quarterly Chapter newsletter, the editor will prepare and submit content for the E31 section BimmerLife magazine twice a year. Content can come from our E31 Chapter membership,International and North American E31 community of independent E31 groups and the editor/publisher can also author articles. The goal of the E31 Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America is to enhance the E31 ownership experience and sense of community through the monthly President’s Updates, quarterly newsletters and the twice a year published BimmerLife magazine. We also promote and encourage attendance at events that may be of interest of E31 owners and enthusiasts.

BMW M Car Caravan
Recently our own Mike Barrett with his CSi participated in the BMW M Car caravan from the BMW Spartanburg Plant to the Amelia Island Concours in Florida. Mike has promised a newsletter article with photographs on the drive and the Amelia event. Scott Marion, who recently had his E31 on Bring A Trailer (it didn’t meet the auction reserve), has tentatively decided to keep his 850Ci. He also attended the Amelia Concours. We have his photos and will publish some of them in our next newsletter.
Headlamp Adjuster kits
I have had several E31 Chapter members reach out to me about a spare parts production run of the NLA headlamp adjuster kits needed for North American E31 models. As mentioned in earlier issues of the President’s Update, BMW
do not have an interest in producing these again most likely due high tooling costs and small production numbers. Look for all the information we have on this product to be available very soon on our E31 Chapter website.
Upcoming BC8s E31 WrenchFest
On Sunday, May 15 , I will personally attend the BC8s E31 WrenchFest in Vancouver, British Columbia. The BC8s hosted WrenchFests have become legend in the Pacific Northwest. No prior registration is necessary to attend.
Now that entry restrictions into Canada for fully vaccinated travelers have been relaxed (no pre-arrival negative Covid test required), consider attending if you are in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. or Western Canada. All U.S. visitors will be required to complete prior to your arrival at the Canadian border the Canadian ArriveCan form (or download the app and fill out on your phone).
